Project Overview
About the Position
The ERC ICE-FLOE project examines small-scale interactions between ocean turbulence and sea ice. Its goal is to improve how melting and fragmentation are represented in climate simulations.
Research Position Overview
Couple large-eddy ocean simulations with discrete-element ice models, compare results with polar observations and derive representations for coarser climate models.
Research Areas
- Polar oceanography
- Sea-ice mechanics
- Numerical climate modelling
