Project Overview
About the Position
Aarhus University's Graduate School of Natural Sciences invites applications for a PhD fellowship/scholarship within the Physics and Astronomy programme. The project investigates orbitronics and twistronics in two-dimensional quantum materials using the synchrotron radiation source ASTRID2.
You will use microscopic and ultrafast angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (microARPES) to study correlated phases in 2D materials, devices, twisted superstructures, bulk quantum materials and heterostructures.
Research Position Overview
The project combines advanced spectroscopy techniques with quantum materials research. You will work with femtosecond lasers to realise orbital, spin, and valley Hall effects, accessing metastable states and exploring the frontiers of orbitronics and twistronics.
Research Areas
- Orbitronics and twistronics
- 2D quantum materials and heterostructures
- Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES)
